A Spirit-Filled Christmas

You make Christmas merry for hundreds of our neighbors each year. When guests come to our annual Mission Christmas event, they hope to find presents for their children donated by generous neighbors like you. They understand that before they “shop,” they will participate in a short Christmas service led by Christiano Centro and their pastor Leo Bermudez. The church worship team plays Christmas carols in English and Spanish with the guests; then, Pastor Leo tells the Christmas story in both languages. That’s when God changes lives.

Pastor Leo paints the picture:

“I was shocked to see the work of the Holy Spirit! I saw a lot of people crying when they heard the gospel.

As the team from our church ministered to people, some stayed in their seats asking for prayer instead of moving on to receive presents!”

Last year was the first time Pastor Leo and Christiano Centro partnered with the Mission, and they are eager to return. About 60 members of the church volunteered in 2023, some of whom volunteered to pray with guests and guide them to your donated presents. A week later, the church held a well-attended breakfast for guests they met at the Mission Christmas event. Pastor Leo says, “I heard many stories about difficult financial circumstances. They were deeply moved by how generous this community is!”

Because of your generosity, children who couldn’t even have breakfast this morning will have the joy of opening wonderful gifts on Christmas.

Even better, some who have never understood the significance of Christmas will hear about Jesus’ sacrifice for them for the first time. Thank you for making it possible!
