“What should we do then?” the crowd asked. John answered, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.”

Luke 3:10, 11

BREAD OF LIFE

Service to the less fortunate is central to our mission. We open our hearts and our doors to serve hot and nutritious breakfasts and lunches for the homeless and working poor 365 days a year at our Bread of Life Kitchen.

CHANGED LIFE RECOVERY

The Changed Life Recovery Program allows men to turn away from the behaviors and customs of the world that led to their addiction and guide them toward changing the way they think.

FAITH HOUSE

Faith House is a vital program of the Mission, offering women and women with children shelter and a safe place to heal. We foster an environment of strength and dignity that sets up women and their children for a better future.

F.O.O.D.

People from all walks of life find themselves in need of groceries they can’t afford for a variety of reasons. The Mission’s Food Distribution Center offers families and individuals free fresh and non-perishable goods to take home and nourish their families.

RESCUED TREASURES

Modeled after the Christian value of “clothe the naked,” the Mission’s Rescued Treasures program provides shoes and clothing free of charge to those in need. Selections range from day-to-day wear to clothing appropriate for job interviews and worksites.

OUTREACH

The Mission spreads Christ’s love in many ways and through many hands. We host several events that encourage and support those in need by building relationships, offering engaging activities, and ministering Christ’s love.

SUMMER ENRICHMENT CAMP

The Mission is invested in the health and wellbeing of our community’s children. Our Summer Enrichment Camp is a 5-week program that reaches out to Frederick County students in need of support, and offers them a summer filled with new experiences and constructive activities in a caring atmosphere.

LEARNING CENTER

At the Mission, sharing our gifts of education and skill building helps rescue people from poverty by helping them to reach their academic, career, and life goals.

Carol Switzer
Rescued Treasures Coordinator

Carol empowers the volunteers in Rescued Treasures. Together, they provide clothing people need for themselves and their families. Carol also runs Crossed Bridges with her husband Jonathan. She enjoys playing any sport with a ball, crocheting, bike riding, and spending time with her husband and five children.

“He who loves God must love his brother also.” (1 John 4:21) explains what wakes Carol up in the morning to begin a new day; being able to serve the Lord while working with people, whether it be administratively or relationally. She loves hearing the testimonies of how Jesus has changed people’s lives, especially because He’s done so much for her!
