Welcome, Chris!

Last month Chris Bugher joined the Mission staff as the director of our Learning Center. A teacher by profession, Chris has worked with her husband, David, at various missions in several states. Wherever David was working as an executive director, Chris would join him by helping guests set academic, life, and personal goals and then assisting them weekly to track and achieve them. She started volunteering at the Mission in December of 2019 and her husband is currently on the board of directors. We are so grateful for their support!

The Mission’s Learning Center exists to empower participants with the skills, strategies, and behaviors of confident, independent, and lifelong learners. This is accomplished through development of an individualized intake assessment and learning program which provides participants with the tools, resources, and strategies needed for academic, life, and workplace success.

We are grateful for Chris’s passion and skill, and we look forward to watching the Learning Center thrive under her management.

Carol Switzer
Rescued Treasures Coordinator

Carol empowers the volunteers in Rescued Treasures. Together, they provide clothing people need for themselves and their families. Carol also runs Crossed Bridges with her husband Jonathan. She enjoys playing any sport with a ball, crocheting, bike riding, and spending time with her husband and five children.

“He who loves God must love his brother also.” (1 John 4:21) explains what wakes Carol up in the morning to begin a new day; being able to serve the Lord while working with people, whether it be administratively or relationally. She loves hearing the testimonies of how Jesus has changed people’s lives, especially because He’s done so much for her!
