Trusting God and the Process

Brenda Bell, a dedicated staff member at Faith House, was deeply moved by Shawndrea’s transformation during her time there. “Shawndrea was so nervous when she first arrived,” Brenda recalled. “But now, she’s so much happier and more confident. The change is incredible—she’s almost unrecognizable!”

Shawndrea’s journey to happiness and stability was a testament to her resilience and faith. Before coming to Faith House, she felt overwhelmed and trapped by her circumstances. She was falling helplessly behind in paying her bills. She was buried under debt and was facing possible eviction. “I wasn’t taking care of my mental health so every day was a blur.

Adjusting to life at Faith House wasn’t easy. Shawndrea, who was used to living alone, found the transition challenging, especially with children around and rules to follow. “At first, it was stressful,” she admitted. “But once I got used to everything, I started focusing on my goals of independence and spiritual growth.”

With the guidance of the Faith House team, professional counseling, and her renewed relationship with God, Shawndrea found stability and peace. She credits these elements for helping her turn her life around.

“My story might not involve sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll, but no story is too small or too big for God,” Shawndrea reflected. “For anyone at Faith House, my advice is to trust God and trust the process. Don’t be afraid to try something different. I didn’t think I’d last six months at Faith House, but it turned out to be the best thing for me.”

Today, Shawndrea lives independently in her own apartment and works in a well-paying job with a medical software company. She plays an active role in her church community, and her faith is stronger than ever. Her transformation is a testament to the power of perseverance, faith, and support. Your contributions to the Mission made it possible for Shawndrea to rebuild her life, achieve independence, and discover a newfound sense of purpose and joy.
