Non-Cash Donations

The Frederick Rescue Mission accepts donations including food, clothing, hygiene items, and occasionally other items to bless men, women, and children in the community who have a need.

When you donate gently used coats, clothing, shoes, and other small items like sleeping bags or linens to the Mission’s Rescued Treasures program, those items are then given away to the men of our Changed Life Recovery Program, the women and children of Faith House or those who are homeless or in need.

The Frederick Rescue Mission accepts various donations throughout the year, including hygiene products, bath and bed linens, inspirational or encouraging items for give-outs, backpack supplies, Christmas gifts, and more. If you have an idea of a special item you’d like to donate, please email Carolyn.

The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.

NON-CASH DONATIONS

We are blessed to give freely because you do.

At the Mission, every program and service are driven by the desire to introduce people to Jesus Christ. Our method includes meeting basic human needs and equipping others to do the same.

Donating clothing, shoes, and textiles:

If you would like to donate to the Rescued Treasures program and you would like a donation receipt, you can drop off clothing, shoes, and textiles at our office located at 419 West South Street in Downtown Frederick, Monday – Friday (9am – 4pm).

If a receipt is not needed, we have numerous “blue bins”, located strategically throughout Frederick County, as well as on our South Street campus, where you can drop donations. Our bins are identified easily by the bright blue color and Mission’s lighthouse logo. Click here For a list of locations.

Shari Balodato
Faith House Program Specialist

Shari Badolato is the Program Specialist for Fath House. Before joining the Mission staff, she was a church Kids and Family Pastor. Shari enjoys hand lettering and going to the beach and movies with her family. She says, “I am grateful for the hope I have found in Jesus and have a passion for helping women find wholeness and healing in Him. I consider it a true privilege to partner with The Faith House.”

Brenda Bell
Rescued Treasures Coordinator

Brenda coordinates the volunteers who sort clothes and assist guests in Rescued Treasures.

She has been working with people in poverty since 1981. She says, “First, I befriend them. Then I find out what they need and refer them to the program that could best help. I only help people who want help, and only in the ways they want help. Some people have addiction problems and don’t want to leave the street. I’m still their friend.”

Carol Switzer
Faith House Program Coordinator

Carol coordinates the programs at Faith House, working with residents to help them develop skills for independence. Carol also runs Crossed Bridges with her husband Jonathan. She enjoys playing any sport with a ball, crocheting, bike riding, and spending time with her husband and five children.

“He who loves God must love his brother also.” (1 John 4:21) explains what wakes Carol up in the morning to begin a new day; being able to serve the Lord while working with people, whether it be administratively or relationally. She loves hearing the testimonies of how Jesus has changed people’s lives, especially because He’s done so much for her!
