Summer Enrichment Camp

But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”

The Mission is invested in the health and wellbeing of our community’s children. Our Summer Enrichment Camp is a 5-week program that reaches out to Frederick County students in need of support, and offers them a summer filled with new experiences and constructive activities in a caring atmosphere.

In 2024, 23 kids enrolled in middle school camp, 56 kids enrolled in the elementary Frederick camp, and 46 kids enrolled in the elementary Thurmont camp.

We focus on grade-appropriate academic goals for the students, social and behavioral growth, and spiritual development as we incorporate lessons from the Bible to teach character building.

Matthew 19:14

Carol Switzer
Rescued Treasures Coordinator

Carol empowers the volunteers in Rescued Treasures. Together, they provide clothing people need for themselves and their families. Carol also runs Crossed Bridges with her husband Jonathan. She enjoys playing any sport with a ball, crocheting, bike riding, and spending time with her husband and five children.

“He who loves God must love his brother also.” (1 John 4:21) explains what wakes Carol up in the morning to begin a new day; being able to serve the Lord while working with people, whether it be administratively or relationally. She loves hearing the testimonies of how Jesus has changed people’s lives, especially because He’s done so much for her!
