The Changed Life Recovery Program allows men to turn away from the worldly behaviors and customs that led to their addiction; the program guides them toward changing the way they think. This Christ-centered, residential recovery program restores men to God, themselves, and to others. Our approach emphasizes the inner person, recognizing that each of us struggles with hurts and hang-ups that continue to affect our lives until they are effectively dealt with.
“You can be clean, but not free.” – Carlton Hill, Program Director
We believe that Jesus brings freedom, and thus each man is presented with the opportunity to know Him through our recovery classes that are based on Christian principles. However, faith in Jesus Christ is not required for program participation or graduation.
We can house up to 40 men in the year-long program, which includes the first six-month “residential” phase and phase two on-campus transitional living houses.
The journey to recovery from chemical addiction can be daunting in a world where stressors and challenges can seem insurmountable. However, residential recovery programs offer a beacon of hope and a structured path toward healing. If you have a loved one who you’re encouraging to enroll in such a program, this guide delves into the intricacies of residential recovery, exploring its principles and benefits in the journey towards a healthier, more fulfilling, Christ-centered life.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Romans 12:2

One day, one step at a time
The residents of the Changed Life Recovery Program start each day with quiet time and Bible study before attending recovery classes. In the afternoon, the men participate in service work, followed by Chapel, Bible classes, relevant speakers, and evening recovery groups. The men serve the Mission in various roles and apply their classroom learning in real-life scenarios.

- Have a GED or appropriate level of education for the future
- Be accountable to a mentor or an accountability group
- Be placed in a financially suitable job

You won’t spend the rest of your lives chasing your own desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God.
1 Peter 4:2
Residents range in age from 21-60 years old.
We believe God sets these men on the path to connect with us. They come from a variety of backgrounds and seek out the program for many different reasons: some are out of prison, some come off the streets and may have been living homeless for several nights to several years. Others have been kicked out of their homes and have nowhere else to go. Often, this is not the first recovery program they have participated in. Men must enter the program voluntarily and have a desire to change their lives. If they are open to what the program has to offer, we’ve seen God work miracles in the lives of these men.
The Changed Life Recovery Program is a year-long program which includes a six-month “residential” phase and a phase two on-campus transitional living houses.
Yes. Each man is required to pay $500 for their stay at the Mission to demonstrate the resident’s investment in himself. This is not required up-front and can be payable throughout the year, particularly during the second phase when the resident begins outside employment.
Upon graduation when a resident is ready to move out, the case manager will work with him to establish a path toward housing of his own. At this time, the man will have recovery success, stable employment with some work history, money saved, and a connection to a mentor or accountability group.
