Sailing Through the Winter Solstice Voting Has Begun

We invite you to vote for our boat, the Lighthouse, in Color on the Creek’s “Sailing Through the Winter Solstice” fundraising contest happening now! There are 18 stunning boats anchored between Market and Carrol Street in Downtown Frederick – whether you see them illuminated at night or during the day, these beautiful works of art are sure to impress.

Each boat on the creek is sponsored by an organization in collaboration with a charity in Frederick. This year, we once again partnered with BB&T to raise funds for our organization this winter season and beyond. Our boat features two beautiful sails outlined with red string lights while the foundation is accented with white string lights. What is not visually apparent on our boat is the impact your vote will have on your community. We are solely funded through donations from local businesses, foundations, churches, and individuals around the community.

Your vote allows us to continue providing residential programs to women and children experiencing homelessness, a residential recovery program for men suffering from homelessness or chemical addiction, food to the hungry, clothing, shoes, and connections to resources for those in need of support.

Each dollar donated is worth one vote and the boat with the most votes and total funds donated will receive the “Sailing Through the Winter Solstice” Trophy. The individual or family that contributes the largest donation will receive a free weekend getaway at a four-bedroom lakefront home located at Deep Creek Lake!

You are able to vote and donate any dollar amount as often as you are able until February 5th. Please share this with your friends and family and remember to cast your vote for the Frederick Rescue Mission’s boat, the Lighthouse.
