Frederick Rescue Mission Announces 7th Annual ‘Souper Sunday’

FREDERICK, MD—September 23, 2019— On Sunday, October 13, 2019, the Frederick Rescue Mission will host their 7th annual “Souper Sunday” challenge, where some of Frederick’s finest restaurants compete for the best soup in town on Ayse Meze’s outdoor patio in downtown Frederick, Maryland.

Attendees are invited to arrive between noon and 3:30pm, select a handcrafted bowl donated by local potters at the Frederick Clay Studio, and have the opportunity to sample soups and cast votes for their favorite. The winning restaurant will be announced on social media later that evening.

Participating restaurants include many of Frederick’s favorites, including Hootch & Banter, Mayta’s Peruvian Cuisine, Ayse Meze, Firestone’s, Lazy Fish, White Rabbit Gastropub, Isabella’s, Family Meal, and Brewer’s Alley.

Proceeds from the event will go toward supporting the myriad of services that the Frederick Rescue Mission offers to many of those in need within the Frederick community.

Tickets to the event include a handcrafted bowl, soup, salad and dessert. Priced at $30, tickets are limited in quantity and are available in person at the Little Pottery Shop, 117 N. East St., Frederick, MD, or online.

About the Frederick Rescue Mission:

The Frederick Rescue Mission is a Christ-centered ministry that provides a residential recovery program for men suffering from chemical addiction or homelessness. The Mission also provides food, clothing and shoes to those in need, and offers connections to resources within the community for those seeking support in an array of areas. The Mission also operates Faith House, a residential program serving women and women with children experiencing homelessness. Faith House combines case management and targeted services while offering shelter and safety.

At the Mission, every program and service is driven by the desire to introduce people to Jesus Christ. The Mission’s method to this end is to meet basic human needs and equip others to do the same.
