Because of the generosity of our donors, the Mission recently purchased a new refrigerated truck. This truck is vital to the ongoing ministry of the Food Distribution Center (FDC), allowing the Mission to transport and distribute fresh meats, dairy, and other perishable food items. Also, the truck’s size and capabilities enable us to increase our ability to serve the larger community. We will continue serving more than 7,000 families in need of groceries at the FDC and more than 20 local food banks and nonprofit organizations who distribute food to their own local communities.
“This truck is an awesome addition to our fleet,” says Guy Mutchler, the director of food services and facilities for the Mission. “It will help us feed so many in need.”
Earlier this year, we published the need to replace our older truck, which had accumulated over 220,000 miles and was often in need of repair. Our generous donors were quick to meet that need! The Mission would like to thank the Delaplaine Foundation, G. Frank Thomas Foundation, Maryland Food Bank, and various individual donors for enabling us to add this truck to our fleet. We are so grateful for your gracious partnership!
