Letter from Our Executive Director: Mothers Overcoming

Faith is about overcoming. In Hebrews 11:6, it is written, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Faith House has always been about faith.

The Mission closed the original Faith House in 2004 due to some difficulties. Yet by faith and five years of great effort, the Mission overcame many obstacles to open Faith House in 2016. God provided the property, the zoning, the finances, and the right people. We believe that once God gets involved in a situation, everything changes.

Women who are experiencing homelessness can have hope because God brings breakthroughs to those who seek Him. Since the opening of Faith House,

more than 144 women and 100 children have come to Faith House for refuge and a new life.

Most have found employment and ended homelessness in their lives.

Terri Gray, Faith House Director since 2018, recently moved to Maine. Finding her replacement was not an easy task! We have exercised our faith, and God has provided our new Faith House Director, Ashley Garland. She brings great experience as well as a heart for Jesus and those in need.

One key thing that keeps the Mission and Faith House moving forward is faith in Jesus. He is the one who changes lives now and for eternity. He rose from the dead, conquering sin and death. A relationship with Him changes everything. In celebrating Mother’s Day, we rejoice that the Mission and Faith House continue to thrive and change lives.
